We’re pretty excited about this one. Fresh from the oven is Understanding Societies: Readings for Introductory Sociology by Gillian Balfour. This is a collection of readings compiled with the first year sociology student in mind, and each chapter makes clear linkages to the latest edition of Joanne Naiman’s How Societies Work. Our basic idea with these two complimentary books is to essentially have a first year sociology course put together for you professors out there.
