Ashley Avery

Ash Avery (she/her) is a feminist abolitionist and Executive Director at Coverdale Justice Society, located on the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. Her MA in Gender Studies at MSVU focuses on abolition during COVID-19 in Mi’kma’ki. Ash has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at addressing criminalization, incarceration, homelessness, and creating alternatives to traditional bail and incarceration for women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals in Nova Scotia.
