Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada served as Cuba’s permanent representative to the United Nations for nearly 30 years and later served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1992-1993. He wrote the Foreward, titled “The Long Road to Utopia”, for the Cuban Spanish edition of Arnold August’s “Cuba and its Neighbours: Democracy in Motion (Cuba y sus vecinos: Democracia en movimiento)” - we are pleased to present the English translation of Alarcón’s Foreward here.
