March 8 was the fundraiser for the annual Word on the Street festival in Halifax. Fernwood’s own Nancy Malek and Stacey Byrne teamed up with authors Richard Zurawski (Media Mediocrity) and Gloria Wesley (Chasing Freedom)Â squaring off against a multitude of wordy opponents. Team Fernwood didn’t advance to the championship round, after mistakenly using an “a” instead of an “o”, but everyone had a great time raising funds for a great cause.
